YORK DOG PARK'S DANGEROUS DOGS
ACT POLICY

DDA DOGS ARE WELCOME TO OUR SECURE WALKING FIELD IN YORK IF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS ARE MET

YORK DOG PARK'S DANGEROUS DOGS ACT POLICY

ā€‹

Here at York Dog Park, we welcome all types of dogs including the breeds that fall under the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA). Additional terms and conditions apply to DDA dogs alongside our standard terms and conditions which your can read here.

If you're unsure that your dog falls under the DDA category, you check here using the UK Government's official guidance

ā€‹

If you're bringing a dog that falls under the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA), you must book one of our DDA Dog Park Sessions which can be found here on our website. When booking you must send proof that the DDA dog is registered with the Index of Exemption Dog (IED)  and a copy of the public liability insurance. If you fail to book a DDA Dog Park session when your dog falls under this category we have the right to cancel your session.

ā€‹

DDA Dogs must always be accompanied at a ratio of 1:1. If you're bringing other dogs to the park alongside the DDA Dog then there must be another handler present to ensure that the 1:1 ratio is adhered too.

ā€‹

If you have more than one banned breed within your household, they must be walked on a 1:1 ratio. For example, two XL Bully types from the same household must be walked with two members of the household so there is always a 1:1 ratio (dog to handler). There can be no mixing with dogs from other households.

ā€‹

On arrival and leaving York Dog Park, your DDA dog must be kept on a lead and be muzzled until you are safely in the Dog Park field and the gate is closed. Once your DDA dog is securely in the park only then can you remove the muzzle and lead if you wish and feel safe to do so.
