ABOUT OUR DOG TRAINING CLASSES
Here at York Dog Park, we are thrilled to be working with Jane from True Pawtential to welcome your dogs to our enclosed and secure dog walking field in Knapton, York.
We offer beginner (bronze) masterclasses for recall and loose lead walking for puppies and dogs in Dog Park 2, which you can book on our website. You can choose a dog class best suited for dog based on their current level of obedience and previous training experience.
Each week you'll receive a weekly recap email after your class to reinforce your learning to help you and your dog achieve your goals.
These are group classes therefore your dog must be comfortable in the presence of other dogs and people. You must not knowingly book a dog onto a group course which shows signs of aggression, excessive frustration and excessive nervousness. If you are in any doubt whether your dog is suitable for group classes, please contact us prior to booking.
True Pawtential offers training and behaviour support with a focus on the emotional well-being of your dog. expertise with a passion for canine behaviour and training.
Jane has over 20 years of hands-on experience helping dogs with issues like fear, aggression, reactivity, and separation anxiety. She’s the behaviourist for York and District RSPCA, where she supports dogs both in the Animal Home and after adoption. Jane also mentors local trainers and is passionate about helping others grow in the field.
Alongside her extensive hands-on experience, Jane holds a degree in Animal Management and Behaviour and is currently completing an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management. As a qualified Dynamic Dog Practitioner (Licence No. 230805). She can identify potential signs of discomfort that may be affecting a dog’s behaviour - something often overlooked in behavioural work. Jane is also a Full Member of the IMDT and part of the UK Dog Behaviour and Training Charter, committed to ethical, welfare-focused training.
Our dog group training classes are a course of 3 x 50 minute sessions which take place at York Dog Park in our enclosed and secure 1-acre Dog Park 2 field. At the end of each course of training classes, you and your dog will receive a York Dog Park completion certificate.
There is a maximum of eight dogs allowed in each class. So we hope that in our dog training classes you and your dog will benefit from our personable group tuition, socialisation and learn dog obedience and commands while in a safe outdoor environment in Knapton, York.

At the end of the course, you will receive a Bronze Completion certificate and there will be the option to progress your training to Silver and Gold Rapid Recall Masterclasses so that your dog can reach their full potential.
